Joint Talk Series organized by GLBIMR & DMA on “Branding Imperatives in the Social Era” on October 18, 2016
With the aim of providing holistic development to the management fraternity, GLBIMR under the patronage of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General; GLBIMR had collaborated with Delhi Management Association (DMA) to conduct a series of joint talks. The second joint talk of the series was organised on “Branding Imperatives in the Social Era” on October 18, 2016 at DMA Conference Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. Mr. Kamalendu Bali, Sr. Director, Concentrix and Dr. Urvashi Makkar were the Session Chairperson. Mr. Rajan Pandhi, Director, Delhi Management Association was the convener of this session. Dr. Makkar expressed her gratitude towards Mr. Rajan for initiating this talk series, which is facilitating in dissemination of knowledge.
While welcoming the delegates from different corporate houses, Dr. Urvashi Makkar elucidated the importance of branding in the Social Era. She highlighted that branding has become synonymous with marketing content,as means to promote as it is with establishing credibility, seeding loyalty and engaging conversion. Dr. Makkar said that social media is also playing an important factor in affecting the choices of the consumers. She quoted that, "There’s also a blurring between media and brands. Brands are becoming publishers and content marketers. So for brands as well as media, the goal is to engage an ‘audience’ or group of customers.
The Expert speaker, Mr. Bali is an accomplished and result oriented senior leader with 24 years of rich experience across operation and technology start up, BPO Solution, Government Relationship and Business Development. He has displayed proven results across key areas of Revenue targets, Policy influencing for IT investments and managing high performance teams across verticals in India, China, Middle East and Africa. He enlightened the session with thought provoking views on Branding Imperatives and how the social media plays an important role in designing the strategy to establish their brand in the market.
In this round table talk more than 30 corporate delegates participated and had an enlightening, brain storming session on “Branding Imperative in the Social Era”. The preceding joint talk of this series was on "Innovations in Technology: Guide Map to Global Competitiveness" in September, 2016 by Mr. Ashish Patel, Director, Morgan Franklin Consulting, USA.
