Orientation 2015

“The Initiation of the Orientation Programme of Ninth Batch of PGDM (2015-17) was held on Tuesday, July 7th 2015 at G.L.Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida .The Chief Guest of the ceremony was Padamshri Dr. Pritam Singh.

Dr. Padmasri Pritam Singh is one of the pioneers of management education in India and abroad. He has been a Director General of International Management Institute, New Delhi, a Director of Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, a Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow. He developed IIM Lucknow and MDI with the reputation that these institutions carry today. Dr. Singh served as Dean of ASCI Hyderabad and IIM, Bangalore. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2003 and many prestigious management awards. He is author of seven academically reputed books and published over 50 research papers.

Dr. Singh holds PhD and Masters degree in Commerce from Benares Hindu University and Masters degree in Business Administration from the Indiana University Bloomington Indiana USA. He is a Global management Guru , thought leader in Management who has influenced management thoughts in a fundamental way as a teacher , researcher , writer and a mentor, who has devoted his life to the development of management education in India and abroad. He is branded as a Change Master par excellence and a Renaissance leader.

Dr. Pritam Singh, in his inaugural address, stated the importance of being truthful to oneself and the significance of inner light in overcoming darkness. He also emphasized on thinking Big and to be passionate as it is the key driver in determining success of an individual. He also laid stress on how one’s survival has become a big challenge in today’s corporate world as it is extremely dynamic and a person can only become great by realizing one’s potential and competencies. He stated that these coming two years are an odyssey in the lives of newly admitted students and the students should be clear with the agenda for the times to come. One is not immortal physically but by the contributions made to the society and the world.

The students were highly motivated and enthusiastic in this thought provoking session as they learned about the mantras to become successful in personal as well as professional life”
