Synergy of Private and Public Sector Enterprises: Enabling Economic Growth, December 12, 2009.
The seminar on Synergy of Private and Public Sector Enterprises: Enabling Economic Growth was organized on January 24, 2009 at GLBIMR campus. Although comparatively of recent origin, the idea of organizations in the private and public sectors collaborating to make a success of important projects has taken strong root and is paying both business and social dividends in many countries. Physical and social infrastructure, water supply, watershed management, wastelands development, afforestation –in fact, nothing that touches the lives of the people is out of bounds for the invocation of the concept. Since the advent of the era of liberalization, India’s policymakers have been putting a high premium on private-public partnership (PPP). So much so, there is no Budget which does not earmark assorted schemes and projects for PPP. GLBIMR believes that the topic of such importance should be discussed at a forum where academicians, corporate leaders and management experts can share their views on the strategic implementation and relevance of PPP model and organized a one day national seminar on Synergy of Private and Public Sector Enterprises: Enabling Economic Growth. The proceedings were divided into two sessions of Core and Infrastructure Sector and Services Sector.

Redefining Business Opportunities and Challenges
September 12, 2009.
The third National Conference on Redefining Business Opportunities and Challenges was held at GLBIMR, Greater Noida campus on September 12, 2009. Globalization is the extra-ordinary explosion of both technology and information in ways that have considerably reduced the twin concepts of time and space. Increasing innovation in science and technology has changed rules of competition, rendering many traditional business strategies and processes obsolete. The main challenge firms are facing is how to take advantage of new resources and markets while dealing with intense and growing global competition. At the same time, challenge being faced by the governments, is how to design and implement supportive policies and strategies. The present day knowledge economy demands knowledge intensive enterprises and business and government both need to intensify their partnership to build strong competitiveness. GLBIMR organized one day national conference on the above topic to address to the emerging opportunities and challenges faced in the course of redefining business strategies. The proceedings were divided into two technical sessions followed by panel discussion.

Retail Infrastructure Bottlenecks,  January 24, 2009
The seminar on Retail Infrastructure Bottlenecks was organized on January 24, 2009 at GLBIMR campus. The Indian Retail story is unfolding the other way round. With rising incomes, favorable demographics and consumer spending at an all-time high, it is advent of organized retail that is expected to give a fillip to the poor infrastructure in this industry, which is expected to reach whopping $30 billion by 2010. However given the peculiarities of the Indian Logistics market such as it’s highly fragmented nature, domination by only local players and a high logistics cost component in the total cost, logistics is becoming a big hurdle for the growth of retail. If the challenges thrown up by the advent of organized retail aren’t addressed on time, then this industry could well be a domain where even international logistics giants will find hard to crack given the peculiarities of the highly fragmented Indian Retail Sector. This issue requires an immediate attention from all the concerned corporate strategic planners. GLBIMR addressed this issue proactively and organized one day National Seminar on Retail Infrastructure Bottlenecks. The proceedings were divided into two technical sessions of Retail Infrastructure and Scope of Retail Business in Rural India.
