Interactive Panel Discussion on “Changing Landscape of Finance: A Career Perspective”@ GLBIMR on December 12, 2018

GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida, organized an Interactive Panel Discussion on “Changing Landscape of Finance: A Career Perspective” on December 12, 2018 for PGDM Batch 2017-19 & Batch 2018-20 with an objective to make students understand the changes happening, challenges faced and opportunities generated in Finance domain in today’s business environment. This initiative was taken under the astute leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and stewardship of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR. The Distinguished Panelists for the session were Mr. Pulock Bhattacharji, Vice President, BSE Institute Ltd, New Delhi, Dr. Madhu Vij, Professor, Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University, New Delhi and Mr. Sachin Agrawal, Senior Faculty, BSE Institute Ltd, New Delhi. The faculty coordinator Dr. Ajay Patel and Dr. Harsh Pratap Singh ensured the smooth conduct of the session, making it great learning for the students.

Dr. Makkar warmly welcomed the expert panelists and shared that the main objective of providing the session is to appraise the young minds with the current scenario prevailing in the industry and to inspire them to imbibe the concepts of finance. She also congratulated GLBIMR team for organizing the highly intellectual panel discussion. The expert speaker Mr. Pulock Bhattacharji captured insights on the finance domain. He also discussed the upcoming opportunities in the financial market and skills required from management graduates for these opportunities. Dr. Madhu Vij discussed the modern practices adopted by Indian companies for operating, investing and taking financing decisions. She also explained estimating cash flows in different investments scenario for business decision making. Mr. Sachin Agrawal encouraged the students to learn contemporary practices in Banking, Financial Services and Insurance sector.

The panel discussion acted as a rendezvous for the participants to listen to the views and experiences pertaining to the emerging issues and challenges in the Finance Sector. It provided management students splendid opportunities to understand the transformation and transition of the finance from the career perspective.
