GLBIMR students participated in CIS Visit to the "The Youth Conclave" on March 16, 2019

Continuing with the initiatives under Corporate Interface series, GLBIMR students, under the transformational leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR Participated in “The Youth Conclave” (Organised by GNCI and SBI Foundation) On March 16, 2019 at SBILD, Noida, Sector 62.

31 Students of PGDM Batch 2018–20 along with Two Faculty Members Dr. Arpita Srivastava and Dr. Alpana Agarwal participated in the event that witnessed eminent dignitaries like Shri Kamal Singh (Executive Director, UN Global Compact Network India), Shri Mahendra Kumar Rekhi (MD and CEO, SBI Foundation), Ms. Nidhi Pundhir ( Director, HCL Foundation ), Mr. Anshu Gupta (Founder Director, Goonj), Mr. Shalabh Mittal (CEO, The School for Social Entrepreneurs) making their presence. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Nixon Joseph, President and COO, SBI Foundation.

The experts highlighted the importance of Making the Development Sector attractive for the Youth and discussed the strategies to give an idea to youth about how to focus on their Career by Scanning the Environment. They also highlighted about the Fellowship and Flagship Program that they are offering for the Youth in order to motivate the Youth to get involved in development sector.

The event was a great exposure for students as it enlightened them that they should first analyze the skills sets which are needed in the particular field that they want to work in. What are the key competencies required by the Youth and to be proactive to grab the opportunity first by scanning the environment where they are performing. The Fellowship platform is to educate young minds to bring sustainable solutions to communities across India with an aim to solve pressing Rural Development Challenges.

It was a very engaging experience under the CIS Platform. All participants were felicitated with a Book named "Rural Brews" which is a compilation of experiences from Rural India made by SBI Youth for India Fellows.
