Faculty of GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida attended an online webinar of Wednesday Wisdom on the topic “University of The Future” which was organized by BW Education and Primus Partners on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.
The panelists of the session were Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities, Former Additional Secretary, UGC, Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, Dr. S S Mantha, Former Chairman, AICTE, Chancellor, K L University, Prof. Anup K Singh, Director General, NIRMA University, Mr. Raghav Gupta, MD-India and APAC, Coursera & Dr. C. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, O.P. Jindal Global University. The session was chaired by Dr. Annurag Batra, Chairman & Editor-in-Chief, BW Businessworld, exchange4media Group & co-chaired by Ms. Charu Malhotra, Co-Founder & MD, Primus Partners.
During the session, Dr. Anil Sahasrabudhe discussed the future of Blended Learning module, e-inspections, role of classic teaching and how it has evolved in this time of pandemic as a new emerged normal. He also spoke about evaluations, security & its importance and how education is the core of learning. Prof. Anup K Singh stated that since online education is the future, so universities need to focus more on research & they have to invest more on building infrastructure to support the same with upgradation of technology. Dr. C. Raj Kumar stated that substantial availability of infrastructure is required and we have to narrow down the digital disparity. Mr. Raghav Gupta spoke about Covid-19’s impact on jobs and stated that technology enabled jobs & employability have to be focused upon. Dr. S S Mantha stated that pandemic has accelerated development cycle of blended education & also discussed about industry transformation and the concept of Industry 4.0 & Labour 4.0. He also spoke about interdisciplinary learning and massive learning v/s personalized learning. Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal mentioned about improving the future of universities with focus on internationalization of educators. Dr. Harinder Sandhu stated that building the culture of research is important for building quality of institution & building capacity, industry interface are some of the important parameters for the future universities.
Overall, it was a highly informative and insightful session
