Management Games and Cognitive Skill Enhancement Session (Day-5: Session 3)

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute, Greater Noida organized Management Games and Cognitive Skill Enhancement Session on TELL (Think, Explore, Learn & Laugh) on Day-5 of Virtual Induction Program - 2020 on “Corporate Expectations & Insights for Aspiring Managers Post COVID-19” on Friday, September 11, 2020 for the students of PGDM Batch 2020-22 under the patronage of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and in the insightful headship of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR.

The session was divided into two parts. The first game was ‘Same and Different’ - a fun filled ice breaking activity which encouraged the students to participate and also provided them an opportunity to know each other and feel comfortable in working as a team. The second game was ‘Virtual Scavenger Hunt’. It was a team building activity where the students had to find items and finish the challenge before the time runs out. In this, the students were divided into teams and were given a list of items which they had to find. Such games enhanced the creative thinking skills of the students, helped them to strategize and perform effectively in a stipulated time period. In the end, all the teams presented their findings in front of the audience. These management games helped the students to learn about creativity, thinking out of the box and ability to re-strategize as per the need.

The session apprised the students that cognitive skills are the core skills that brain uses to think, read, learn, remember, reason and pay attention. It also provided an opportunity to the students to know their batch mates better, gave exposure of working in teams and also helped them to develop the ability to take decisions and perform within the deadline in a fun-filled learning environment. Overall, it was an engaging session which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
