GLBIMR students learnt Effective Communication Skills with Ms.Pammi Talwar on December 12 & 19, 2017

With the objective of enhancing corporate readiness amongst the students, GLBIMR organized Special Sessions on “Effective Communication Skills”, as part of the Expert Talk Series for PGDM Batch 2017-19 , on December 12 & 19, 2017 , under the lustrous leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR . The resource person of these sessions was Ms Pammi Talwar, a renowned Corporate Trainer and Life Skills Expert.

Dr. Makkar emphasized that, the objective of these session was to facilitate the students in learning effective communication skills that match up with the expectations of contemporary corporate business houses. Ms. Pammi Talwar, who carries with her, more than 35 years of rich experience in training & Consultancy with leading Corporate Houses, said that in the world of business, communication is a whole lot more than just a person’s ability to talk, it’s actually crucial & critical for one’s success. During the session Ms. Talwar used concepts like storytelling, tongue twisters, talking to objects around us, creating stories out of given nouns, magic of listening, verbal & non verbal communication etc.

Dr. Urvashi Makkar shared with the students, that today’s workforce is becoming more globalized by the day, which can be challenging for managers who will have work with diverse employees from different places and backgrounds. This can be challenging, especially if they lack in effective communication skills, therefore by honing your communication skills and by going out of your way to work within the confines of this multicultural, multinational workforce, it’ll be an asset and will put you in a much better position to communicate and achieve successful career goals.
