With the impetus on corporate readiness, GL Bajaj Institute of Management and Research, Greater Noida, organized an Industrial visit for the students of PGDM Batch 2017–19 at Yamaha Motors Ltd, Surajpur road on 30th August 2018. This initiative was taken under the leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR; with an aim to go beyond academics, as these industrial visits render the student a practical perspective on the working environment.
The Training & Development team of the company addressed our students and shared a detailed presentation about the working of a manufacturing unit with assembly lines and operations on the shop floor. Students were taken on a guided plant visit and were explained about the dynamics of the two-wheeler segment in the country and the standing of Yamaha as against the competitors Honda & Hero MotoCorp, India. Students interacted with the staff and acquired knowledge about production methods, quality management department & usage of robotics in production. They also got the opportunity to visualize the process of a Yamaha bike getting produced and assembled in 40 seconds. Students gained in terms of Operational and Management skills required in the manufacturing process of a company.
This visit induced GLBIMR-ians to understand the innovative offerings of the institute to enhance their skills as dynamic management professionals. It was a highly informative visit and students got the opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices.
