GLBIMR believes that in order to be a successful professional, it is very essential for the students to learn to maintain a balance between academic schedule and personal life. The PGDM Batch 2018-20 is gearing up for their first ever corporate exposure through SIP programme, so to ease out the pressure of students and to prepare them for the upcoming challenges, GLBIMR under the astute leadership of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and stewardship of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, organized a Special Session on “Stress Management for becoming Successful Corporate Professional” under Expert Talk Series by Mr. V.K. Bansal, Former Vice- President, Shri Ram Group, Dr. Pooran Chandra Pandey, CEO, Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute, Berlin & Ms. Deepika Shergill, renowned Consultant and Trainer on December 06, 2018, Thursday. The distinguished guest of the session was Ms. Pammi Talwar, a renowned Corporate Trainer and Life Skills Expert.
Dr. Makkar during her address welcomed the guest speakers and shared that this session will benefit the students in uncovering new ways to handle stress at the workplace which will contribute not only in enhancing their productivity but also living a peaceful life throughout. Mr. V. K Bansal charmed the audience with his immense wisdom about success and happiness in life and how these two are reciprocally connected to each other. He also shared various rage management and stress management techniques with the students. Dr. Pooran Chandra Pandey highlighted that stress isn’t always bad, a little bit of stress can help to stay focused, energetic, and able to meet new challenges in the workplace. He also advised the students to channelize their emotions and have maturity of mind. Ms. Deepika Shergill helped the budding corporate professionals to understand the different levels of stress, its effects on personal and professional life and techniques to manage it in the corporate world. She also advised the students to pick up a hobby as it will reduce stress, alleviate high blood pressure and stimulate one’s creativity.
The session was designed to build self-awareness, resilience and to empower individuals to recognize workplace stress and tackle stress-related challenges at work through effective strategies. This session gave insights of the pressure at the workplace and how it can be dealt by maintaining proper balance. It was extensively interactive with the focus upon experiential learning to help GLBIMR-ians achieve great success at both professional & personal front.
