GLBIMR organized a 30 hours module on “Strategic Management” for PGDM Batch 2018-20, from February 09 – 16, 2019, under the successfully ongoing Global Talk Series initiative. Global Talk Series is a unique learning platform initiated by Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR; to provide global exposure to the students. The resource person of the series was globally renowned expert, Mr. Ashish Patel, Managing Director, Morgan Franklin, McLean, USA.
During the series, Mr. Patel covered various latest strategies like PESTLE Framework, Ansoff Matrix, ETOP Analysis, Michael Porter Five Forces model, McKinsey’s 7-S, Portfolio Analysis, Blue Ocean & Red Ocean Strategy, BCG Matrix, Porter’s Generic Strategy Model and various concepts of Strategic Management like Company Mission, Vision, Core Values, External & Internal Analysis, Goals & Objectives, Policies Empowering, Procedures, Organization Structure and Culture, Strategic Implementation and Control, Corporate Restructuring, Reengineering, currently relevant in global market. Along with this, Mr. Patel also shared two very relevant case studies on Amazon Inc. and Starbucks Ltd. for better understanding of Industries and Organizational Strategies. During the 30 hours of Global Talk Series, students not only learnt about the latest strategies, but also got a clear vision about the implementation of these strategies in business.
The Valedictory session was held on February 16, 2019, where while extending gratitude to Mr. Patel, Dr. Urvashi Makkar shared that Global Talk Series is a profusion of knowledge which will open the gates of opportunities for students, not only in India but also across the globe.
