Celebration of International Women’s Day @ GLBIMR on March 08, 2019
With an aim to respect and acknowledge the contribution of women in society building, GLBIMR Entrepreneurship Development Cell organized International Women’s Day under the visionary guidance Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR, on March 08, 2019.
The celebrations began with invoking the blessings of Maa Saraswati followed by mesmerizing performance by students of PGDM 2018-20 with soulful renderance of songs, tribute to the changing face of women with a dance performance and video on the most successful women in the country. An inspiring Expression session was held where students shared life experience of the most influential woman in their life and what positive impact she had. International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
Dr. Urvashi Makkar shared that she believes in gender-neutral professional roles, yet the occasion of Women’s Day deserves to be celebrated on a positive note to promote inclusion. On the special occasion, Felicitation of Women of Substance Award was undertaken to acknowledge the contribution they have made in their own spheres. The award was conferred upon Ms. Kavita Dasan, Vice President-HR, DHFL, Ms. Usha Thakur, Social Activist, Ms. Pammi Talwar, Communication Expert and founder of IAHTI, Ms. Shivagi, Life Mirror & Director-Naturality and Dr. Kcalpana Bhushan, Kathak Guru and founder of Kcalpana Kala Kendra.
With this Women’s Day celebration, GLBIMR continues with its journey committed to foster empowerment and creativity.
