International Yoga Day @ GLBIMR
On December 11 in 2014, The United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as the International day of Yoga. Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. The theme for 2019 International Yoga Day as given by UN is "Climate Action" where each member of the universe has to come forward for making their contribution. Considering the importance of this event, GLBIMR will be observing International Yoga Day on June 21, 2019 (Friday) and is organizing a special Yoga session for its Students, Faculty and Staff members.
This session aims to sensitize students, faculty and staff members about the importance of yoga and to participate in this unique collective Yoga experience – with thousands of people in the same movement, the same respiration, at the same time and in the same rhythm.
