Faculty & students (PGDM Batch 2019-21) of GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research, Greater Noida attended an online Webinar under Expert Talk Series on the topic “Strategies for Managing Change Post Covid-19” on Saturday, June 20, 2020 under the visionary guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. The speaker of the session was Dr. Prasanta Kumar Padhy, Former Professor, Head and Chairman - Board of Studies in Business Administration; and Chairman, Post Graduate Council, Berhampur University.
During the session, Dr. Prasanta Kumar Padhy shared his valuable insights regarding disruptions due to Covid-19 and its impact on various sectors. He said that Covid-19 has challenged companies to manage their enterprises in newfound ways. In the short term, they are facing changes in their business plans and in the long term, they must continue to make progress on their original goals. He added that disruptions offer an opportunity to transform the organizations with progressive leadership strategies. To deal with change, leaders encourage their teams through steps like Resolving, Resilience, Re-imagination and Reinforcement to succeed in uncertain business environment. He stressed that organizations have to value sentiments of employees and explore new ways of working for business continuity. He stressed on adopting best practices to assist organizations in minimizing Covid-19 impact on people, operations and business. He further said that in order to manage the resistance, resilient leadership is required to manage teams while leveraging the right tools to succeed. Motivated employees amidst global pandemic are only possible with compassion for workforces and communities. He stressed on partnering with stakeholders as for organizations, the top priority is to protect people and find new ways to serve customers. Before concluding, he said that due to travel restrictions and policies like work from home, organizations have to enhance digital learning to add more value to their organization and create benefits for its stakeholders.
