Webinar under Global Talk Series

G.L. Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute, Greater Noida conducted Webinar under Global Talk Series on "Eight Steps to Leadership Excellence" on Thursday, August 27, 2020 for the students of PGDM Batch 2019-21 under the patronage of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions and in the insightful headship of Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR. The speaker of the session was Ms. Parul Paliwal, Co-Founder & CEO, Hello All Foundation.

The session started with an invocation to Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR shared that understanding of leadership skills is pertinent during this challenging time of Covid-19 pandemic and it’s essential to achieve leadership excellence to succeed in life. He added that an ideal leader should be committed to development and improvement. He also stated that great leadership would help to find out a path during any crisis and also guide us to move ahead towards greater heights.

During the session, Ms. Parul Paliwal explained that leadership is the ability to engage others and to maximize their efforts towards the achievement of a noble goal. She discussed leadership excellence and shared the importance of self-awareness and leadership skills. She further elaborated that it is important to have creative intention without any distortion to achieve your goals effectively. She explained the effectiveness check points i.e. Clarity, Honesty, Ownership, Commitment and Win-Win. She also discussed Range Extension Model: Eight Steps to Leadership Excellence i.e. Intellectual understanding, Self-awareness, Emotional arousal, Choice, Declaration, Planning, Practice and Maintenance & completion. She concluded that feedback should be effectively given without any prejudice and judgement.

The session appraised the students with the latest leadership styles to be developed in changing business scenarios. Overall, it was a highly informative session for the students.
