2nd Startup Summit 2020 (Panel Discussion 1 - The Ecosystem for Atmanirbhar Bharat: Drivers, Challenges and Pillars of Support)

GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute, Greater Noida organized 2nd Startup Summit 2020 on “Creating New Opportunities, Building Partnerships & Inspiration: Atmanirbhar Bharat” on Saturday, November 07, 2020 under the patronage of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions.

The Guest Speakers of the summit were Mr. G Srinivvasan, CEO - Sporjo, Ex-BCCI, Ex-NIKE, Ex-Reliance Sports Group, Ex-ESPN, Ex-Indian Super League, Former Head - Marketing & Sponsorship Sales IPL; Dr Indrajit Ghosh, Chairman - MSME Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Mr. Amit Pandey, CEO - Pincap; Mr. Vinay Trivedi, Head HR - ToneTag (Naffa Innovations Pvt. Ltd.) and Ms. Sneha Saikia, Freelance Chef & Entrepreneur.

During the session, the Guest Speakers shared their viewpoints:

Mr. G Srinivvasan encouraged all to become self-reliant. He shared that although Sports industry had been a billion dollar industry, still there had been less employment opportunities in it. So the aim would be to make India self-reliant in sports. He also added that India lacks quality in technology, so it’s necessary to improve it to bring it to the required level.

Dr Indrajit Ghosh stated that the current time had been the golden times for Startups as there were ample opportunities in the market nowadays for them to prosper. He shared that India had become the largest supplier of PPE Kits during Covid-19 pandemic which made India self-reliant in times of crisis.

Mr. Amit Pandey discussed about his project ‘Super 77’ which motivated the youth to embark on the journey of entrepreneurship. He also encouraged all to be passionate and stay motivated. He guided everyone to always upgrade themselves by learning new skills.

Mr. Vinay Trivedi stated that uncertain times require different approaches. He explained how ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ could strengthen our country as it provides ample opportunities for all. He also shared an example of National Tree and explained how it represents diversity, ecosystem, growth and roots.

Ms. Sneha Saikia shared how she started her own journey of startup and the various challenges that she faced. She suggested all to use social media as it’s a great platform to share ideas. She also encouraged all to never give up and always find out solutions to the problems.

Around 300 participants from Industry and Academia participated in the event. It was a thought provoking session which gave a new perspective to understand various aspects and also enhanced the knowledge of the participants.
