GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute, Greater Noida organized 2nd Startup Summit 2020 on “Creating New Opportunities, Building Partnerships & Inspiration: Atmanirbhar Bharat” on Saturday, November 07, 2020 under the patronage of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions.
The Chief Guest of the summit was Shri (Dr) Bindeshwar Pathak, Founder - Sulabh International and the Keynote Speakers were Mr. Satyakki Bhattacharjee, Managing Partner - Growth Sqapes and Mr. Ashu Kansal, CFO - Addverb Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
The session started with an invocation to Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Ajay Kumar, Director, GLBIMR welcomed the dignitaries and shared that future would be with Startups and government focus had been on the development of entrepreneurs and also provided several platforms for them. He shared that Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India announced an economic package on May 12, 2020 to fight Covid-19 pandemic and also to promote Atmanirbhar Bharat. He added that Atmanirbhar Bharat aimed to encourage local entrepreneurs who had the potential to shine globally.
Shri (Dr) Bindeshwar Pathak discussed the problem of computer dependency in today’s youth as they were dependent on it even for small calculations. He added that such dependency would be detrimental as creative entrepreneurs had to do brainstorming which needs alertness of mind. He also discussed the problems of toilets and medical facilities in India. He shared that under a scheme, around 1.5 billion toilets and 3000 bathrooms were constructed in India. He also discussed the concept of ‘Biogas’ for cooking food and latest technology for water purification.

Mr. Satyakki Bhattacharjee shared the Genesis of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Campaign. He discussed Millennium Development Goals and stated that by 2015, it had achieved 50% of the 8 goals. He also discussed that by 2030, 17 Sustainable Development Goals and 169 Targets would be achieved to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation. He also encouraged the startups as it could solve the three problems i.e. basic human needs, foundation of well-being and opportunity to reach full potential.
Mr. Ashu Kansal shared that he had 6 startups in the field of advanced technology, robotics, etc and discussed the challenges that entrepreneurs face nowadays. He shared that an entrepreneur needs to focus on its product and must evaluate how it was different from others and whether it would be satisfactory for the customer or not. He also suggested entrepreneurs to focus on building relationships as it’s a crucial factor which would impact the whole business.
Around 300 participants from Industry and Academia participated in the event. It was a thought provoking session which gave a new perspective to understand various aspects and also enhanced the knowledge of the participants.
