GLBIMR, with a vision to integrate Entrepreneurship Skills among its PGDM students provided an excellent opportunity to them to participate in the “Entrepreneurship Orientation Program” at National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) under the leadership of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR on October 4, 2016. The objective of the NSIC orientation program was to gain insights about self employment, entrepreneurship, development of new small enterprise by way of providing hands-on training on working projects, to boost the development of small enterprises and the manufacturing sector etc. This program made the students familiar with the role and importance of Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in Indian Economy, process of setting up of Enterprise, preparing Project Reports, Identifying marketing possibilities as well as with the issues regarding various statutory requirements such as Income Tax, VAT etc. The experts from NSIC shared visionary ideas for starting the ventures in manufacturing industry and briefed about the financial capital assistance from the government for such manufacturing units. The technical staff provided information on various projects like soya milk plant, pet plant bottle enlarger, biscuit making project unit, disposal paper making plate unit etc. The students also participated in the question and answer session gaining appreciation. It was an incredible exposure and remarkable learning experience for the students. This EOP contributed to the holistic development of PGDM students and provided them with a treasure of insights which will be fruitful for them in their future career prospects.
