Director General of GLBIMR invited to Stand-up India International Conference by NIESBUD
We feel proud to share that Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR was invited as Session Chair during Stand–up IndiaInternational Conference on “Entrepreneurship & Women Empowerment” on 19th November 2016 organised by The National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NEISBUD) . In this conference more than 200 participants including 44 delegates from 21 countries namely Afghanistan, D.R. Congo, Ethiopia, Liberia, Lithuania, Myanmar, Niger, Russia, Sudan, Botswana , Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Mozambique, Swaziland, Uganda, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe participated and presented their research papers.
Dr. Makkar in her riveting address highlighted that women entrepreneurs face gender-based barriers in starting and growing their business like limited financial resources, access to technical knowhow etc. She said that there is an urgency to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurship development which should be favorable for women. She suggested to implement PPP Model to facilitate mass financial inclusion of women from rural/tribal areas to make them economically independent which is the need of the hour. She acknowledged the role of Dr. Rishi Raj Singh, Director and Training officer, NEISBUD in organizing this conference so effectively.
