Management Games & Cognitive Skill Enhancement Session @Induction

Management Games & Cognitive Skill Enhancement Session @Induction Program

One week long Induction Program for PGDM Batch 2017-2019 has been organized at GLBIMR, on the theme – “Corporate Expectations & Insights for Aspiring Managers”. The Induction program, which commenced on July 10, 2017, received an overwhelming response from the students. The fifth day of the Induction program was equally exciting, exceptionally energetic and more focused on team building exercise, wherein a full day session on Management Games and Cognitive Skill Enhancement Session on TELL (Think, Explore, Learn & Laugh), was conducted for PGDM Batch 2017-2019 on July 14, 2017.

Management games are simulation exercises, designed for management applications and used for training purposes. The students in this real time exercise, learnt about ownership, accountability, creativity, thinking out of the box and ability to re-strategize as per the need. They got an exposure of working ‘in teams & for teams’, improving decision making and performing within deadline, in a fun filled learning environment. Participation in the games also helped students learn time management, handling abrupt situations, group engagement and coordination for solving the problem. Students actively participated & were involved thoroughly. They appreciated that the activity acted as an ice- breaker and also helped them in knowing their fellow students better. What better start we could have for a bright & vibrant new session!!

This session was the brain child of the academic acumen of Dr. Urvashi Makkar, Director General, GLBIMR; which was conducted jointly by Dr. Prachi Agarwal, Assistant Professor-HR & Soft Skills and Parul Yadav Assistant Professor-HR & Soft Skills, in a customized way to enhance the learning experience of the students and give them ample chances to showcase their creativity and cognitive skills.
