Entrepreneurship Cell of GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute, Greater Noida organized “Introduction to E-Cell” on Thursday, September 2, 2021 for the students of PGDM Batch 2021-23 under the patronage of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions.
The session started with an invocation to Goddess Saraswati. Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director, GLBIMR congratulated the faculty for taking the activities forward. She emphasized that formal education provides opportunities which the students won't get otherwise. She added that it’s difficult to create benchmarks and much more difficult to sustain it in the education sector. She elaborated that GLBIMR aims to integrate the students with the outside world as business does not happen inside the boundaries of academic institutions. She suggested them to understand entrepreneurship as a skill. She also hoped to see the students as employment generators in the future and wished them luck to become successful entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
The session started with a brief introduction of Vice Chairman Sir, Director Mam and the E-Cell faculty coordinators - Mr. Vikram Kumar Sharma and Dr. Arvind Kumar Bhatt. The students were explained how E-Cell focuses on developing entrepreneurial spirit and what are the qualities which they must possess to become successful entrepreneurs. The objectives of E-Cell i.e. to generate a sense of learning about the entrepreneurial ventures; to learn how to generate, identify and select business ideas; to make a prototype of business idea for testing and it’s re-designing, etc were also explained to them. The session also shared details like interventions under E-Cell, project implementation and training methodology of E-Cell. They were provided information about Student Newsletter: ‘The GLB Times’ through a video presentation. Later on, Reshav Siwas and Manu Singh shared their presentation on "Virtual Wallet" and Saurav Manna and Adarsh Shukla shared their presentation on "Maid+" and they explained the students about how to develop a business idea. Also, motivational startup stories of Steve Jobs and Vijay Shekhar Sharma were also shown to them.
This session helped the students to understand the nature, activities and working of E-Cell, encouraged them to imbibe the entrepreneurial skills and also motivated them to work on their own business ideas.
