GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research. PGDM Institute, Greater Noida organized “12th Convocation Ceremony” on Sunday, September 19, 2021 for the students of PGDM Batch 2018-20 and 2019-21 under the patronage of Mr. Pankaj Agarwal, Vice Chairman, GL Bajaj Educational Institutions.
The Chief Mentor for the event was Smt. Annpurna Devi, Hon'ble Minister of State for Education (Government of India); Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Koderma (Jharkhand), the Chief Guest was Shri Bharat Wakhlu, Former Managing Director, Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, Former Group Resident Director, Tata Sons Ltd. and the Guest of Honour was Shri Abhilash Misra, Chief Executive Officer, NSE Academy Ltd., India.
The event started with Academic Procession followed by lighting of ceremonial lamp and invocation of Goddess Saraswati. The esteemed dignitaries were welcomed with bouquets as a token of greeting. Dr. Sapna Rakesh, Director, GLBIMR. PGDM Institute shared the Director Report and stated that GLBIMR has secured its position in surveys conducted by AIMA, The Times of India and CSR to name a few. The institute has been ranked under Top 30 institutions in the country. She shared that the institute has planned to implement one Value Added Course per trimester and added that this year Virtual Business Incubator will also be launched. She shared that GLBIMR’s faculty has made exponential growth in research and their works has been published in various renowned publications. She stated that the students participated in national level competitions and won exciting prizes. She concluded and shared that GLBIMR’s alumni has taken ownership to provide training and guidance to the current batch of students under Alumni Outreach Program "SAHYOG".
In his address, Mr. Pankaj Agarwal congratulated the parents for the successful completion of their ward’s masters program. He shared that as the students are entering in a new phase, they need to deal with greater responsibilities, there would be least margin for errors and they would be held responsible for their own decisions. He suggested them to relearn and unlearn the changes happening in the industry and encouraged them to have positive thinking, determination and passion for learning. He added that criticism helps in constructive growth when its not biased. He added that the principles they learned in the college will prove to be the turning point and conveyed his good wishes to them for their achievements.
After that, Dr. Shuchita Singh conducted the Oath Ceremony followed by conferring of diplomas to both the batches. From 2018-20 Batch, Gold medal, Silver medal and Bronze medal were awarded to Jyoti Sharma, Lokesh Sharma and Madhav Nagpal respectively along with certificate and cash prizes. Certificate of Excellence were awarded to Archita, Madhav Nagpal, Archita and Lokesh Sharma in the area of Marketing, Finance, HR and Operations respectively. From 2019-21 Batch, Gold medal, Silver medal and Bronze medal were awarded to Shatakshi Singh, S. Taniya and Asrita Singh respectively along with certificate and cash prizes. Certificate of Excellence were awarded to S. Taniya, Shatakshi Singh, Parkhi Gupta and Shubhendu Ranjan in the area of Marketing, HR, Operations and IT respectively.
In his address, Mr. Abhilash Misra stated that students’ has just started their journey to a great life ahead and wished them to become successful individuals and future leaders of tomorrow. He shared motivational stories with them and added that knowledge clears the thought process, makes one knowledgeable and encouraged them to take decisions based on the knowledge acquired. He stated that life is uncertain and suggested them to stay in touch with their faculty, alumni and friends. He expressed his happiness that alumni are providing jobs to the current batch of students in their businesses. He concluded and told students to rejoice and celebrate their special day.
During his convocation address, Shri Bharat Wakhlu stated that behind every great achievement, there is huge planning and efforts required and encouraged students to appreciate and applaud their Director, faculty and staff members who worked tirelessly so that they could get their diplomas. He stated that last two years were difficult for everyone and added that the whole pandemic has been a blessing in disguise. He further explained that no one can anticipate what challenge life would throw and it’s all up to them how they deal with it. He encouraged them to find their uniqueness which differentiates them from others and also to discover their spark and qualities which they could use to serve the world. He also shared a ‘Mnemonic - V ARISE’ as a gift to the future leaders of the world which comprised of - V for Values, A for Attitude, R for Responsiveness, I for Integrity, S for Service and E for Excellence and Equity.
This ceremony acknowledged the hard work and accomplishments of the students of PGDM Batch (2018-20 and 2019-21) and they were awarded their diplomas during the program. Overall, it was a grand academic extravaganza widely appreciated by the audience.
