The experiential learning inside the classroom is integrated with activities outside the classroom through structured co-curricular and extracurricular activities involving intense student engagement with the help of student clubs. These activities are conceived, led and executed by students, thereby helping them put into practice some of the key concepts that are learned inside and outside the classroom and also develop crucial leadership skills. The PGDM curriculum at GL Bajaj Institute of Management & Research is an outcome of persistent innovation and incessant review by the faculty with the help of industry practitioners, academia experts, alumnus and students. The planning of program curricula involves active participation of Academicians, Industry practitioners, Area Conveners, Program Coordinators, Alumnus and respective area faculty members. The overall development of the curriculum is as per the industry requirements/Inputs/expectations.
The designing of the programme curricula is a multi-pronged strategy to ensure that the management graduates of GLBIMR develop a judicious blend of strategic thinking, tactical implementation, specialized knowledge and general management skills. The programme provides a holistic experience of innovative teaching methods, experiential learning, social projects and extra-curricular activities to develop critical thinking and leadership qualities. Each uses an array of pedagogical tools such as case studies, article review, quiz, group projects, live projects etc. to attain the expected outcomes.
GLBIMR offers the following innovative pedagogical tools
1- Team Presentations Each Student gets the opportunity to showcase his/her presentation skills at least 21 times in a year (as part of Internal Assessment Component).
2- Case Study Analysis To enhance problem solving skills and simplify complex tasks, cases study method is adopted.
3- Group Discussion It is mandatory for each student to be part of Group Discussion. Each student in exposed to 21 Group Discussions in a year.
4- Audio Visual tools -faculty use and promote audio visual methodology in classrooms to provide the students with vicarious educative experience.
5- Project Based Learning To make the students more research oriented and develop their analytical skills. It is imparted through Live Projects, Minor Projects, Research Based Projects, Summer Internship & Dissertation Projects.
6- Speak-up Sessions Students are given opportunity after each expert talk/ corporate sessions/ guest lectures to share their experience and learning.
7- Role Play & Simulation Exercise These forms of experiential learning's are used for active involvement of the students.
8- Online Courses & MOOCs These courses have been introduced to build on the engagement of students who self-organize their participation according to learning goals.
9- Peer to Peer Learning : Students learn a great deal by explaining their ideas to others and by participating in activities in which they learn from their peers. They develop skills in organizing and planning learning activities, working collaboratively with others, giving and receiving feedback and evaluating their own learning.
10- Self-Assessment MCQs in form of Quiz is practiced to assess the subject knowledge.
11- Global Talk Series offer global platform for the students to facilitate international exposure.
